It has been a very long time since I have posted a blog!! I am sure I have alot to blog about so I figured I better get one started!! School is keeping on my toes and running, I am halfway through this semester and I will be very glad to see it go in December!! I am still watching my four little rugrats and learning all about the joys of terrible twos, potty training, sick kids, teething and learning to walk!! I am going to be a pro by the time we have a little one!! I really do love my job, who else can say they get paid to play all day long!!
Steve officially started his new route at work delivering machines, same hours but a much more stable work week. He is absolutely loving it, he comes home in the most wonderful mood every night.
We have been busy with wedding planning as well, as of today we are 7 months away from the wedding. It seems like so far away but I know it wil be here soon! We had our engagement pictures done this past weekend and I am impatiently waiting for them! They should be back this weekend, I am so worried that I will look awful in them. However, I love our photgraphers so I have faith they can work with my ugly mug! We are going this weekend to check out tuxes and work on a registry. My mom and I have two appointments to meet with cake bakers in the next two weeks. I have also started working on several DIY projects for the wedding to be used as decorations. My poor mothers spare room is being taken over by wedding stuff.
Along with wedding planning and trying to be crafty with my FIY projects I am trying to learn to use computer programs. I am doing our save the dates, invitations, programs and other paper projects around the reception. I am going to venture into the world of photoshop and publisher. I am not very good with computers and I get very frustrated with them so this could be a very interesting next few weeks!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful next few weeks, the holiday season is about to kick into high gear. I am attending a concert on the 29th with my sister and four of my cousins. Then Halloween we have a party to attend! Should be a very fun weekend!!

Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more!
What a wonderful weekend away we had! Steve and I went this past weekend and visited his family that lives in Topeka. We love going up there, they have wonderful dinners and really enjoy each others company. I enjoy it because I really see where Steve gets his warm loving side from but also where he gets his joker side from as well. I laughed so hard I wa afraid my stomach might hurt the next day!
Steve's work schedule has slowed down a bit and he is now just working about 48 hours a week instead of 70! THe 2010 football season kicked off last week and as many of you know the chiefs played monday night! We had burritos and margaritas and really enjoyed watching the Chiefs beat the Chargers! It has been a while since the chiefs had a big Monday night game like that!
School is keeping me on my toes, I am really so ready to be done. I am not sure how soon I will start taking masters classes, but my guess is I will wait a year or two. I am planning on being done in May, about a week before the wedding. Boy if thats not cutting it close, I don't know what is!!
Wedding planning is going quite nicely, we have been able to check a good number of things off of the to-do list. We have to meet with a photographer this weekend as well as going shopping for Tuxes. I am not sure how excited Steve is about this! Next weekend I am going to go take a look at the reception hall, I am very excited for that!
Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful fall weather we are experiancing! I am ready to get the mums and pumpkins out and decorate for Halloween! I think I may add that to my to-do list for the weekend as well! I love fall, it has became my favorite time of the year!

Fall is on its way!
Oh wow, what a long, hot, busy summer we have had! Steve is finally done with working his crazy schedule and we have spent the last two weekends relaxing and enjoying ourselves. Steve actually got a few days of vacation after they finished the last SOnic install. He had four work days and two weekend days off with nothing planned! I think he got rested up, he has been hitting the gym pretty regular again. I can not say the same for myself, it seems like something gets in the way every night. School is keeping my busy and so is wedding planning.
We are going to be getting away for the weekend to visit Steve's family in Topeka. I love going up there and visiting with everyone, its so nice and relaxing. Unfortunatly a weekend of traveling means a busy week before for me. I am trying to get all the laundry done and put away, the house cleaned and all my homework done before we leave. SO far I am doing good on my check list and I still have a few days to finish everything.
Wedding planning is going great, so far I have not turned into a bridezilla. We found our caterer last weekend, I am very excited, their food was amazing. We have also decided on our florist and what types of flowers we will use for bouqets and centerpieces. WE are meeting with a potential photographer in two weeks, I will be glad to have that checked off of the list! Finding a photographer has been the single hardest thing about the whole planning process. After we get a photographer we should have all of the major items done. Now we just get to start making deposits and payments!
I hope everyone is enjying the nice fall weather the midwest has been experiancing. Its so nice to have the AC off and the doors and windows open. Enjoy the weekend and I am sure I will blog sometime early next week!

Its hotter than the 4th of July!!
Oh my goodness, it has been the hottest summer I can ever remember having. I can not even remember the last time it was below 90 for a day but the past two weeks have been upper 90's almost continuesly! Steve is still working this crazy split schedule, but he only has two more weeks left of it! YEAH!! Needless to say we are in a countdown mode at our house, it has been a long hot tiring summer for him.
We had a very lazy weekend, Steve was very thankful. Between 3 baby showers, a trip to St louis and a trip to Silver Dollar city the last four weekends have been fast and furious. We really relaxed this weekend and spent a nice calm weekend at home in the Air watching movies. Oh yes, and of course Madden 11 came out this last week so steve got in a few games of that this weekend as well.
We normally go camping for the major holidays of the summer however with the heat, Steve's work schedule and my parents big trip they just got back from we decided to skip labor day and stay home for a pool party and BBQ at my cousins house instead. As many of you know my best friend Angie is 33 weeks pregnant and we also didn't want to get to far from her, just in case little Kenzie decides to make her entrance early.
I start school again in one week and I am NOT looking forward to it. Steve and I have been house hunting and planning the wedding. I am enjoying these two things much more than school! But they also keep me on my toes and busy so mix school in with that and you have one crazy bride to be!
As far as wedding planning goes, our planning is going very smooth so far. We finally dedided on a color scheme after several trips to bridal stores and one 3 hour dress fitting with my WONDERFUL bridesmaids! I really have wonderful ladies helping me through this process! Of course I also have my dress, slip and veil already purchased and the deposit is made on the reception hall. Steve and I are meeting with a DJ this week so we are slowly getting things lined up. In case you have not heard we do have a website, its filled with fun stories and information on the wedding. Here is a link...

Well, I suppose I should wrap this Novel up! Since Steve is working I think a chick flick may be in order this evening!

The dog days of summer!
Wow, it is hot outside!! I think the past three days it has gotten to 100 degrees here with a heat index of 105 or more. Needless to say I have spent a lot of time indoors this week with the little ones that I watch. Poor steve is still working the split shift and it is wearing him out. We did get to go to St Louis last Friday night and came home Saturday late. Angie and Dustin had a great shower there as well. This weekend we have some fun activities planned, Springfield Cardinals game with friends Thursday and Friday evening we are going to the fair with my cousin and her boyfriend.
Wedding planning is coming along slowly but surely. We do have a little over 9 months so I am not to worried about it. Steve and I have actually been house hunting. We are looking to upgrade to something with more square footage, the usuall more bedrooms, another bathroom! This way when family comes into town they can stay with us and be more comfortable. This is proving to be a long and tiring process, we found our dream house but it was not our dream price. SO we are back to the drawing board and still looking!
Hope everyone is doing well, stay cool and hydrated in this heat!!

Summer is halfway gone!
WOw it has been so hot here for the entire last week. We have been under a heat advisory almost every day, which means the kiddos and I are inside! We have been going a little stir crazy so this week we got out of the house and visited my mom. Steve is still working Sonic installs on the weekend, It is really interfereing with our weekends! We are heading to St Louis next weekend for my best friends family baby shower. Our friends Angie and Dustin are expecting a baby in October, Steve is going to entertain Dustin while us girls attend the shower.
My big semester long project is due tomorrow, after that I will be pretty home free with my summer classes. I will be glad when I am done so Steve and I can enjoy a few summer evenings before fall classes start. We have our irons in several pots at the moment and if a few of them pan out we will be sure and share them. We dont want to share to early and jinx ourselves.
Hope everyone is doing well! Be looking for emails soon for your addresses. I will be starting our address list soon!

The Wheels on the bus go round and round!!
Wow, I can not believe that we are halfway through July already! The last few weeks have been a complete and total blur for us. Of course we have started doing some wedding planning. We have picked out the date, drum roll please! The date for the wedding will be MAY 21st, 2011 at 5pm in Springfiled, MO. I got my dress this week, I was not planning on getting one this soon, but I found the most beautiful dress and decided to get it. We have a wedding website but I have to wait a few more days to share it. Steve is being a procrastinator on asking his groomsmen. As soon as he does I will share the site with everyone. I will tell everyone that the reception will be held at a hotel here in Springfield. THe hotel is THe Lamplighter Inn on North Glenstone. Here is a link to their webpage.
http://www.lamplighternorth.com/index.html
They have a block of rooms reserved for our out of town guests. They have a special rate for us so you just have to mention the Adkins/Meier wedding. They offer the special price three days before and three days after the wedding. If you need more information just email me.
Other than wedding planning we have been pretty boring. Steve is still working a ton of hours while they finish up the Sonics. School is keeping me busy, but I will be done in a few weeks. I have never been so glad for a summer semester to end!
Our best friends Dustin and Angie are expecting their first Child in October and I am hosting a baby shower for them this weekend. In the next month we have 3 baby showers to go to. We are also making a trip to St Louis and hoping to make it to Topeka sometime in August. The rest of the summer is going to fly by, but I am hoping the next 10 months fly by! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

She said YES!!!!

I am sure that everyone has heard by now but on 4th of July Steve and I became engaged! We are very excited and I was beyond suprised! I had no clue at all that he was planning on proposing anytime soon much less today. I thought maybe I would write a little blog to share with everyone who was not there how he proposed.
Every 4th of July we go to my parents house for a huge BBQ and to watch the fireworks. Almost my entire family comes to this BBQ, my parents, siblings, niece, nephew, my cousin Ronda and her entire family were there as well as my best friend and her husband and about 15 of our other friends and their friends. We always have a huge meal and my mom and I run around like crazy getting everything together so I had not seen steve for 2 minutes the whole time. As we are getting ready to eat my mom called us all in to a huge circle so that we can say the blessing for the meal. I like to get pictures of everyone circled up so we will know who all was there.
Well this year as I was taking pictures Steve came over and took my hand and asked me to do something really quick. It was somewhat loud and pretty chaotic as this moment so I was not sure what he said. As he led me into the middle of the circle I did not know what to think, then I saw Steve get down on one knee. He held out this beautiful ring and had the most amazing smile on his face. I could hear people screaming in the background but I could not get focused on what was going on. I vaquely remember asking him what he was doing and he responed "what does it look like I am doing" He finally had to ask me to say something! I was speechless, that is a first time in my life I have been speechless. Well needless to say I said yes!!
Not one single member of either of our families or our friends knew anything about him buying the ring or proposing. He had managed to keep it a complete secret for over a month from everyone. He did tell Rick who he works with and Rick had kept the ring at his house until last night. Steve went to watch the UFC fight with Rick and his son and he picked up the ring then. I truely love the fact that no one knew. I love my ring it is beautiful. I am so ready to marry the man of my dreams and spend the rest of our lives together.
Thanks for all the congratulations and well wishes! We are very excited.

We're not in Kansas anymore!
Another fast and furious weekend of traveling has came and went! This weekend we went to Topeka, KS to visit with Steve's dad and his family. We do not get to make it there nearly as much as we would like so we were very excited to be going to visit. Steve;s grama and Aunt Shelly were both celebrating their birthdays with a nice family lunch at their home in Topeka.
My mom and dad rode thier bikes to Topeka and we stayed in a hotel with them just behind Steve's dad apartment. Mom and dad left early friday morning but Steve and I were not able to leave until late friday evening. We were both exhausted by the time we arrived at midnight Friday. Long story but we should have been there at 11 but a missed exit extended our trip by an hour! Steven and his dad Steve stayed up until the early morning hours visiting, I only made it about an hour before I had to crash for the night.
Saturday morning started bright and early with a trip to Walmart to get cooking supplies. My mom and I decided to make Enchilladas and Green CHille caserole to take to the birthday party. Steve offered to let us use his kitchen to do the cooking which meant for the first time in 7 and a half years my mom would finally meet Steven's dad. They hit it off great, they both love sci-fi movies and had watched a lot of the same ones. We even got to go through pictures of Steven when he was a little boy, he was so adorable. His dad has saved everything he had made and all of the letters he had written over the years. It was awesome to able to read the letters and memories.
After we were done cooking we headed to the hotel to get cleaned up. My parents were meeting some friends to go riding and we were headed off to the family dinner. I was so happy to see Steven's aunts and grama, I also got to meet a couple of family members I had not met. Steven's family is so warm and friendly, I feel so warm and welcome from everyone there. They were nice enough to invite my parents over and mom and dad were able to meet Steven's grama, aunts and cousin. It was awesome to be able to have our families meet after 7 years!
After visiting for several hours we headed back to the hotel so that Steve and my dad could take a little siesta. My mom and I headed off to Dick's sporting goods and Target to do a little evening shopping. After shopping we tried Spangles a cute little burger joint, its was awesome!! After eating dinner Steven and I decided to take advantage of the indoor pool before heading off to bed!
Sunday morning my parents woke up before the rooster crowed! We all headed up to eat the hotel breakfast which was actually very good. After eating my parents laoded up and headed out to enjoy their 6 hour ride home. Steve and I wer not ready to leave yet, we had planned to visit family on his moms side that also lives in Topeka. Unfortuantly our dog sitter called and alerted us to some sick puppies at home. Not to go into detail but she said I would have a huge mess to clean up when I got home all over the bedroom floor! That took the wind out of our visiting sails and we decided to head home instead of visiting. Our neighbor was not joking about the mess either! It took me an hour to get everything cleaned up and it was not the way I wanted to end our weekend.
I should not that I drove the entire way home from Topeka to Springfield, this was the longest I have driven ever. It was also the longest I have driven in my new truck! Both the truck and I did wonderful!! I can not wait to get back up to Topeak to visit, but I am secretly hoping maybe we will get a visit from the Simon family as well! Next weekend we do not have any travel plans and I am kind of ready for a restful weekend at home. Steve and I have been slacking about the gym but we are hping to get back on track this week! I start my summer classes today, so I am sure those will keep my very busy for the next two months.
Until next time I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

That was a busy weekend!!
Wow I can not believe that Memorial Weekend has come and gone already! Steve and I have both been working very hard the past few weeks between work and school and we were defiantly ready for a three day weekend. We love to go camping with my family and Memorial Day is always our first camping and float trip of the summer. This year we had the most gorgeous weather we have had in a few years, the sun was shinning and the temps were in the mid 80's. We started loading things up Thursday night and I finished up Friday afternoon, my parents went down early Friday morning but Steve and I had to wait until we got off of work. This was our first trip with the Rendezvous but boy was it nice to have! It pulled our camper like it was nothing and we had plenty of room to pack of of our stuff.
We camped Friday and Saturday night and floated Saturday. We did a new float this year that was almost twice as long as our usuall float. THe river was up quite a bit thanks to all of the rain we have had lately. We put in 8 kayaks and 2 canoes with a total of 14 people. We have not had that large of a group in some time, but we enjoyed this float alot, it was probably the best float ever. Sunday morning we woke early and started packing our things up, we were all tired, burnt and ready for our traditional stop at the Sonic in Buffalo. Everytime we go camping we all help each other pack up and our entire family stops at Sonic and sits outside and eats together. Its a simple tradition but one that everyone really enjoys.
Sunday afternoon Steve and I rested and laid in the AC before heading off to Andy's to get some frozen custard. We knew we had a long day ahead of Monday so we made it an easy night at home.
Monday I woke at 6 am to beat the crowd at Bass Pro. I had gotten my mom a camping rocker for her birthday last year and it broke at the river this weekend. I took it to bass pro and they exchanged it no problems. I then stocked up on BBQ supplies before we headed to the lake for a day of swimming. Steve had heard of a sand beach at Table ROck lake called Moon Shine beach. It is the only sand beach on table rock and it was a super nice beach with a great swimming area. We swam for 6 hours and came out looking like steamed lobsters. I have never been so sunburnt in all of my life! Needless to say SPF 30 is a big joke, go with something MUCH higher! After we painfully squeezed into our clothes we headed off to the landing to do some shopping and eat dinner at Shorty smalls.
I had never been to the landing before, as far as shopping goes it had a lot of the same stores that our mall in springfield does. It is a very cute enviorment to shop in because they are all outdoor shops. But for me if I am going to branson to shop then bring on the outlet malls! I must say though that shorty smalls is to die for, their food is melt in your mouth good and words can not even describe their desserts!
We had a fabulous holiday weekend and started the summer off with a bang! Now we are headed off to Topeka for the weekend to visit with steve's family. I am super excited about going I just wish I didn't look like a raccoon clown! It's really not my best look ever!

We had a fabulous holiday weekend and started the summer off with a bang! Now we are headed off to Topeka for the weekend to visit with steve's family. I am super excited about going I just wish I didn't look like a raccoon clown! It's really not my best look ever!

Work, Work, Work
Well I must say I was glad to see Monday come this week. We have so much going on the next few weeks we used this weekend to do home repair projects. Steve and I have been trying to hold off on turning on the AC this year, not for any particular reason just to see how well we can do without it. TO help with this we drug the old screens for the windows out of the attic and washed them off. It had been many a moons since these had been used. We had siding put on the house 5 years ago and the windows were not sized corectly to fit with the trim and siding. SO steve began the project by trimming the screens down using his new circular saw, talk about excited, a man with a new tool! Once that was done I scraped and painted all of the screens before we could hang them on the house. Lucky for us it was 87 degrees on Sunday so the paint dried very quickly. Once the screens were dry steve attached new hooks and hung all of the screens on the windows.
In between all of this we bought a new wooden 5 foot swing for the back yard. We had a friend leave a metal swing frame at our house last year but we have never done anything with it. Well Sunday Steve put the swing together while I spray painted the metal frame and once the swing was together I stained the swing a beautiful Pecan gloss. For anyone who has never stained let me warn you of a valuable lesson I learned! That stain is STICKY and is horribly hard to get off of your hands so wear gloves or be much more careful than I was!
Three years ago I purchased an umbrella for the yard but since we never had a patio we never took it out of the box. Well Sunday Steve decided to break it out and put it togther. I was extrmemly impressed and happy with how nice the umbrella was. It had been a 100 plus dollar umbrella that I got on clearence for 25 dollars at Bed Bath and Beyond, after seeing this thing I think I got the deal of the century! Steve also built a ramp for our storage building he and my dad put up in the fall. He plans on building flower beds around it this month so that no little critters can live under it.
Needless to say after all of this activity we were hot, tired and sunburnt! We did both sleep like babies that night and are very happy with all of the work we got done. I am happy to report it was 87 here again yesterday and we had all the windows open and I loved it! Today is much cooler at 80 degrees and we have a very nice cool breeze blowing through.
We are going floating this weekend so I will start getting ready for that this evening. We love going to the river with my family and our friends, its peaceful and relaxing. Of course with steve it is always entertaining! I am sure I will have lots of stories to post and pictures to share when we get back!

Getting ready for summer
Wow, it has been a long time since I posted a new blog! I guess I have not really had anything exciting to write about and finals kept me usy for a few weeks, but I am done for a few weeks until summer classes start. Steve and I are FINALLY over this crud we had for over a month. I never had it as bad as Steve but still had it enough to kick my butt! Now that we are feeling better we have been hitting the gym everynight for about an hour and 15 minutes. We joined a new gym in January but it was being built and after several weather delays finally opened two weeks ago, its a very nice gym, not crowded, staff is super friendly adn best of all its only 10 dollars a month, if you havent checked out Fitness 19 you should.
On the last blog I was wishing Steve a happy birthday, though we didn't do anything super special for his birthday the daycare kids and I made him an Icecream cake and I made his favorite Steak for dinner that evening. The kids had a blast helping me but it was deffinatly a learning experiance!

It was not a perfect cake by any means but it sure was tasty!! I took vanilla icecream and layered the bottom, then mixed smashed oreos with chocolate syrup and layered on top of the icecream, next lay down a layer of chocolate fudge and top with another layer of vanilla icecream. Top of with your favorite frosting and let freeze for 4 hours. And then... ENJOY!!

But not before you eat your dinner!!!

We elebrated Mothers Day with my Parents, Sister, niece and nephew by eating brunch at Cracker Barrell. My Grandpa always loved to take my mom there for Mothers Day so we couldn't think of a better place to go. Some of you may not know but for my parents 27th wedding anniversary they decided to purchase each other a little gift. Though my mom gets all the use out of it my dad is having the time of his life riding everynight with my mom. He had purchased a brand new Road King in 2009 and when he retired in September he finally had the time to ride it. SO I would like to introduce the newest member of our family!!

Yep folks thats right, my mother now has her very own brand new Harley Trike to ride with my father! So back to Mothers Day, since my Mom has this new bike she loves so much it was only logical for us to get her accesories for her bike for Mothers day! Here are some pictures of her opening the Mud Flaps all of her kids got her. We also got her a trunk organizer but it wont be here until the end of May, but the Bike Fairy wrote her a letter explaining his bike broke down and he couldnt get it here on time. But as a fellow Harley rider he was sure she understood!

Steve and I have also been watching American Idol, we have done this for several years now and never miss an episode. This year was a little different though! Steve and I had our top three picked from the very begining, we though it would be Casey, Chrystal and Shiaban. At the very begining we could not stand Lee, he had not been profiled as much and we just didn't get his voice. However as time has gone by SHioban began to get on our nerves and Lee quickly grew on us. Every other year we have watched we knew who we liked and didn't like and we never waivered from that. This year we were wrong and after lasts nights performace we both agree Lee is the man to beat. Though we both still love Casey and Chrystal we have to admit that its Caseys time to go, its going to be a show down between Lee and Chrystal! In case you don't watch you should go to Youtube and look for Lee DeWyze Simple Man and Hallelujah. Both were beautiful!
Steve and I are taking it easy this weekend other than hitting the gym and I am going to church with my momma on Sunday. We will be going to the river for the first time on Memorial weekend and the following weekend we will be visiting Steve's family in Topeka. It has been way to long sence we made it up there and we are both very excited about going. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, it is supposed to be Warm and SUnny in Springfield!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVEN!
I would loike to wish a very happy birthday to the most wonderful man I know! Steve turns 32 today and while he is fine with getting old he couldnt even remember how old he was turning until last night. I kind of like that fact about him, he still plays basketball on Saturdays, works out with the guys on Monday evenings, plays video games with Chuck a couple times a month, when we have family get togethers he is the first one to challenge my nephew or young cousins to a game of horse or tag football. Age doesnt mean anything to him, he is happy and content in his self and I love that about him! Ok, I will quit being sappy now!
This weekend the skies here in Springfield decided to open up and let the rain fall, we had not had rain since the begining of April. Since Steve had been sick all week and there was no way to work outside we decided to go watch a movie on Saturday. We watched The Book Of Eli with Denzel Washington, it was a good movie not the best movie ever, but still a good watch. Afterwards we decided to get lost in the boook store for a couple of hours. Steve was looking for a new book by Sam Sheridan called A Fighters Mind while I decided to purchase The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. We are both enjoying our new books, I couldnt put mine down! Sunday we went to my parents house for Sunday dinner after church. My mom made home made hot roast beef sandwiches, they were phenominal! The weather here has turned cool after the rain this weekend. I am hoping to take the kids outside to play tomorrow. They have been cooped up inside for a week now and need to burn some energy! Steve mowed the yard last night, good thing because it needed it! With him being sick last week and the rain this weekend it had not been done in a few weeks.

Now with the grass cut we have the best looking yard in the neighborhood! My pasies I planted are in full bloom and my Peonies in the back yard are full of buds just waiting to open up. I am going to try and take pictures of the flowers and add them on here later! Hope everyone has a great week and I will blog after the bonfire this weekend!

Thank goodness the weekend is here!
Well what would the week have been without another trip to the Emergancy room for us? Wednesday evening I took Steve to Urgent care to get him checked out. Thankfuly strep and swine flu tests came back negative so they gave him some meds to help with the fever and vomiting. Poor guys has been off of work since Monday night, what a way to spend a vacation. But anytime he takes three days off of work you know that he is one sick puppy! Thank you to all of you who called, texted or emailed to see how he was doing!
We finally got some rain here yesterday for the first time since April 2nd! I was so happy to see the rain washing the pollen off of everything, my eyes and nose were thankful as well. We dont have any exciting plans for this weekend, just letting Steve rest and get 100% before work next week. Next weekend we are having our annual bonfire party at my parents house. I am hoping the weather is nice and warm and we can all camp out. We will see about that though.
Have a fun and safe weekend!

When it rains it pours
Another weekend has come and gone and I am sad to say we got nothing accomplished! The middle of last week Steve and I started feeling a little rough, with the high pollen count I attributed it to allergies. Both of our throats, noses and eyes were killing us so I decided to close the windows and turn on the AC for the first time, I hated doing it but my eyes sure loved me for it. By the end of the week we were not feeling much better, and on Friday morning I woke up with no voice and a phone call from my mom saying my sister was being taken to the ER. My sister has been having horrible migranses and needed to be seen. They gave her some pain meds and fluids and she is seeing her Dr today to see what is going on. I had Desola for Thursday morning through Saturday morning and wouldnt you know she comes down with a 102.1 fever. I now know why parents worry so much when their children are sick, I think I woke up 50 times in the night and checked her fever and made her drink some fluids. Her mom picked her up first thing saturday morning and almost immediatly afterwards my cousin called saying her brother was being taken to the hospital and she was out of town and could I go sit with him. Well almost 8 hours later I returned home. My cousin was better and had been sent home, thank goodness he was ok.
Sunday Steve and I slept in extremely late, neither of us were still feeling 100% so we thought a day of pure rest would do us wonders. Late Sunday night our dog Wiley started yelping in pain, Steve decided he needed to be seen immediatly and rushed him to the overnight vet. They diagnosed it as a seizure and told us to see our regular vet in the morning. SO first thing Monday Steve took Wiley and dropped him off with Dr Mallard for the day. Almost right away they said they did not think it was a seizure and were going to do xrays and blood work to see what was going on. They called early afternoon to tell us Wiley had been diagnosed with Spondylosis and he also had two bone spurs on his spine. He will be taking a medicine twice daily to help with pain but it is a managable diagnosis. Along with medicine we will be changing his food to a senior food and he will be getting a big no fluffy bed to sleep on.
I am hoping for a much less eventful week and weekend coming up. The NFL draft starts Thursday evening and Steve is looking forward to that. Not to mention a certain someone will be turning 32 years old on April 28th!! I am not sure how he feels about turning 32 but it doesnt seem to be slowing him down!

Times they are a changing
We have almost made it through another week! I thought I would give an update of how our week has been. Steve has been having some issues with a pain in his stomach for the last few months and thanks to my sister her saw a new Dr two weeks ago who told him it was not a hernia but he thought Steve has just pulled a muscle in his stomach and prescribed some muscle relaxers to help. Tuesday of this week Steve had his follow up appt. with Dr. Bumberry and was told he was on the mend. Steve actually did some bag work last night and lifted a few weights and seems to be good today. Steve has been at Coke for over 7 years now but is looking into changing employers due to some reshifting of job duties has left him in an area of work he does not enjoy. He decided to study for and take his test for Hazmat/Tanker and Doubles and triples. Well he passed with flying colors, not that I was suprised, he is really very smart. Now he is getting finger printed for the Hazmat and Tanker endorcment. I will keep you all updated on his job prospects as all that starts to take place.
This weekend we will have a few more house guests. We will be watching Desola who is one of my daycare kids as well as my best friends two sons while their moms are out of town. Friday night our best couple friends Dustin and Angie are coming over to BBQ some hot dogs and enjoy our new fire pit with us. Saturday calls for lots of yard work and MMA fights on CBS in the evening. Sunday will be another fun day of working in the yard, Steve has big plans for our yard this summer and it will involve a lot of work on our parts!
I have nothing interesting to tell about my own life at the moment. Two of my daycare kids have been out all week so I have had a pretty easy work week. I am hoping to pick up a set of twin matresses this afternoon for the new bunk beds. I am still adjusting to them, they are much larger than I thought they would be! I only have 5 weeks of school left for the semester, I can say Thank the lord for that! I am ready for this semster to be over, it has been a long boring semester with no fun exciting classes.
Well everyone have a great weekend, have fun adn be safe in whatever you do. I can hear the little ones stirring from nap time so I am off to play outside after lunch!!

Spring has Sprung
Spring is here and so far Steve and I are staying very busy with yard work and a visit from the Boydens.
As some of you know Steve's brother Justin is in the Air Force and graduated from job training on March 29th. He is being stationed in Alamogordo, NM at Holloman Air Force Base. They arrived in Springfield on March 31st and stayed until April the 10th. Before Justin joined they had lived less than a mile from us and we had multiple visits a week, we were very excited to see them this time but also a little sad. Holloman is over 15 hours from Springfield, so it will be awhile before we see them again.
The kids have gotten so big since we saw them at Christmas, Braxton talks so well now and Novalee has grown a foot! Isabella is a spitting image for Justin. On Thursday April 1st Steve took the day off of work so that he and Justin could spend some time together. I had all of my daycare kids that day so we had an easter party, complete with craft projects, dying easter eggs, and egg shaped rice krispe treats.

Unfortunatly our visit couldnt last forever and Justin and Amy loaded up the truck and left on April the 10th. They did get to Holloman safely Sunday evening. They found out Monday they would be getting a house on base and were able to move in Tuesday.
Steve and I have alot of plans for working on our house this spring and summer. We worked in the yard Sunday afternoon and Monday evening cutting out bushes and cleaning the fence line. Steve suprised me with a trip to Lowes where we purchased a fire pit, I was very excited at the idea of nightly backyard fires. Tuesday evening Steve out the fire pit togther and had a fire ready when I got back home. Sadly we ran out of wood and were left in the dark! Steve decided he would go in and put our new bunk beds together before Justin and Patrick came to stay this weekend. I am still warming up to the idea of the bunkbeds but I know they will come in very handy as the daycare kids get bigger and out grow pack n plays. I am hoping to pick out a paint color this weekend and start that project next! We will see though, Steve and my dad are getting ready to frame and pour a patio in our backyard, we are also hoping to put a pool up this year and I am wanting to try my hand at garneding for the first time on my own. We will see how much of this we get accomplished but we have a good jump start so we might be in good shape.

This is the new building we put up this fall, our plans for the weekend are building a ramp on the front and a flower bed around both sides. Our yard has never had so many flowers as it will this summer!
