Could I be any worse at blogging?

Well, I don't even know where to start this blog at since it has been 2 and a half months since my last update. We have been keeping busy with the holidays and enjoying life to the fullest!! I guess to start our blog I will start off with Halloween.

For Halloween we had our 2Nd annual party in the barn at my cousins house. My cousin Ronda has the most awesome barn and we love to have any get together we can in there. Our party was on Saturday night and Sunday night Steve and I passed out candy to all the 12 trick or treaters we had come by. I was super disappointed in the lack of trick or treater we had considering how beautiful the weather was. Lucky for me I bought plenty of candy, NOT!! I ended up taking it to my moms house and leaving it so I didn't eat it all!

Jason Aldean-

My wonderful sister got tickets to see Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan in concert at JQH Arena. So a few days before Halloween my sister Missie, My cousin Ronda, her daughters Kassie, Audra and Kirklyn and myself headed out to the concert. I had no idea how awesome our seats would be, but words do not really describe them! The opening act was Thompson Square, their first big hit is "are you gonna kiss me or not." They did a great job of getting things started, but then Luke Bryan came out and blew me out of the water! He put on such a phenomenal concert, and boy could he dance! Jason Aldean had big shoes to fill as the main performer, but he did not disappoint either! All the country music had us ready to go to the bar so my sister and I decided to go to Midnight Rodeo. After it was all said and done we had one amazing night and made some great memories!

Thanksgiving-

The week before Thanksgiving my wonderful friend Kelley flew in from Arizona for her first visit since moving in July. She had a lot of catching up to do since we had got engaged and our friend Angie had her daughter since July. We had a get together at my parents house that Saturday night so that everyone could be in the same place and visit.

As usual we had Thanksgiving dinner at my parents house. We did not have as big of a turn out as normal but of course we still had a blast. My mom, Ronda, Kassie, Josh and I made some awesome food if I do say so. After dinner we had to check out black Friday ads so that I could make my plan of attack for the next morning. Much to my surprise and Steve's delight there was not one single thing I could not live with out for Friday's sales. I did find some Tupperware, towels and sheets I wanted from walmart but they opened at midnight. Steve, his mom and I went to walmart at midnight and did some quick shopping before heading home and turning in for the night.

Steve and I had drove to pick his mom up Wednesday night and had to take her home Friday afternoon. After a quick drive 2 hours east we turned around and drove straight home so that I could meet my mom and our friend Bev for dinner. The rest of the weekend we had nothing planned and we were able to rest and relax. I decorated for Christmas on Sunday since we had the most beautiful weather.

December-

Wow, what a fast and furious month December turned out to be! We had UFC fights, Christmas Parties, engagements, holidays and more parties!! Steve's work Christmas party was held at Drurys new family center on December 17th. The party was wonderful and Steve even won a gift card to Outback Steak House. After the party a group of us decided to go play some pool. We had a great time and the guys really enjoyed playing pool and us girls sat around and talked.

The 18th we had a Christmas get together with some of our friends over for dinner and to hang out. I made baked spaghetti, and some appetizers. Angie and Kassie brought salad and meat balls. I believe everyone had a great time visiting, eating and this will forever be remembered as the night that Steve's scrabble addiction started!

The next day my foreign sister Galiya came in to surprise our family for the holidays. No one had any idea she was coming in besides Steve and I. My mom and I make candy for Steve's work every year and it just so happened we had planned to make it the day Galiya came in. We headed to my parents and I told them Steve and I wanted to give them their present a little early and asked both of them to gather in the living room. I went in first and had them cover their eyes while Steve brought their present upstairs. This is a picture of her surprising our parents.

Christmas Eve-

I was lucky this year and had Christmas eve off so I made dinner for our family dinner that evening. We headed out to my parents house for dinner and opening presents about 5 o'clock Christmas eve. Steve surprised me with a new camera for Christmas so I was able to take some awesome pictures of that evening.

We got a wonderful surprise Christmas Eve when my cousin Ronda came down with her three daughters to show us Kassie's very special Christmas present from her boyfriend Nat. Or should I say from her fiancee' Nat!!

After eating Chinese for dinner Kassie decided to grab her fortune cookie to eat. Little did she know that Nat had prepared a fortune cookie just for her with a very special message in it!

Needless to say Steve and I are super happy and very excited for Kassie and Nat. I am glad to have a fellow engaged couple to share this next year and all the new experience's it brings. We happen to be getting a pretty awesome cousin-in-law out of it as well! Congratulations again guys!

After everyone had opened their presents and things had been cleaned up half of us headed to bed and the other half of us headed to midnight mass. My mom, galiya, Josh and I attended midnight mass at Sacred Heart. The mass was beautiful and we even got to sing some Christmas carols!

Christmas Day-

Christmas Day started off fast and crazy as I had to make a few dished to take to my moms for dinner. I made chicken burritos for the first time ever, according to Steve they turned out to be pretty tasty. I also made pin wheels and a new dessert I learned about from Steve's cousin Lance. Thanks for the recipe lance!

Once we got to moms house Steve took the new camera and snapped a few shots of everyone having a good time. We do Mexican for Christmas dinner and as usual it was a huge hit! After dinner we visited for awhile and Awed over Kassie's beautiful ring some more. Once everyone started heading home Steve and I headed that was as well. We went out that evening with Kassie, Nat and some of their friends to fox and the hound. We had a blast and I laughed so hard I was sure my side would hurt the next day. Lucky for me it didn't because the Chiefs played and were on the line for a playoff spot!

Double Birthdays-

My beautiful cousin Audra and I both celebrate our birthdays immediately after Christmas. Audra's is the 27th and my birthday is the 28th of December. For Audra's 17th birthday Ronda invited Steve and I out for some pizza and cake. As usual it was fun and I think Audra had a nice birthday.

The next evening Steve and I went to Carlos O'Kellys for dinner and a drink. Thanks to Steve's cousin Shane and Aunt Audrey for the gift card! After dinner we headed over to Campbell 16 to watch "True Grit" which turned out to be a pretty dang good movie! I would recommend watching it if you have not seen it already.

New Years Eve-

Normally for New Years Eve we host a party at our house or my parents house but this year was a little different. Since my best friend has had a baby, my other best friend moved away on my and my parents have a wild life we decided not to have a party this year. Instead of having a party we wanted to go out on New Years for the first time since Steve and I have been dating. That's right somehow in 7 new years eve Steve and I have never gone out.

Lucky for me Kassie and Nat had the same idea in mind and we planned a night out on the town! Although no one had any idea what to do, at about 7 o'clock on NYE we finally decided we would head to Uncle Bentley's a small bar here in Springfeild. Kassie's friends Kristy and Steve who are also newly engaged, met us up there as did some of their other long time friends. The bar was actually a lot of fun, nothing uppity of fancy and we were easily able to get a table. The guys played shuffle board and darts all evening while the girls danced, drank and visited. I would have to say this NYE got a 10 out of 10 for us!

Steve and I both had the weekend off with nothing planned so we were able to stay home Saturday and watch dumb show after dumb show. I am actually not even sure what we did because we didn't watch a single show or movie that I remember what it was about. Sunday the chiefs played and despite a loss they are in the playoffs for the first time in several years! I am sure I do not have to tell you how excited Steve is about this playoff spot!

WOW!! Now that I have you all caught up on how we spent the holiday season I think I will wrap this blog up! I have learned a valuable lesson and I will never go this long with out blogging again! I think it is going to take my fingers all day to recover from all this typing! Hope you enjoyed this amazing read! I will blog later in the week on wedding planning progress! Hope you all had a fantastic holiday season and started the New year off with a bang!

WOW, I have been a slacker!!

It has been a very long time since I have posted a blog!! I am sure I have alot to blog about so I figured I better get one started!! School is keeping on my toes and running, I am halfway through this semester and I will be very glad to see it go in December!! I am still watching my four little rugrats and learning all about the joys of terrible twos, potty training, sick kids, teething and learning to walk!! I am going to be a pro by the time we have a little one!! I really do love my job, who else can say they get paid to play all day long!!

Steve officially started his new route at work delivering machines, same hours but a much more stable work week. He is absolutely loving it, he comes home in the most wonderful mood every night.

We have been busy with wedding planning as well, as of today we are 7 months away from the wedding. It seems like so far away but I know it wil be here soon! We had our engagement pictures done this past weekend and I am impatiently waiting for them! They should be back this weekend, I am so worried that I will look awful in them. However, I love our photgraphers so I have faith they can work with my ugly mug! We are going this weekend to check out tuxes and work on a registry. My mom and I have two appointments to meet with cake bakers in the next two weeks. I have also started working on several DIY projects for the wedding to be used as decorations. My poor mothers spare room is being taken over by wedding stuff.

Along with wedding planning and trying to be crafty with my FIY projects I am trying to learn to use computer programs. I am doing our save the dates, invitations, programs and other paper projects around the reception. I am going to venture into the world of photoshop and publisher. I am not very good with computers and I get very frustrated with them so this could be a very interesting next few weeks!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful next few weeks, the holiday season is about to kick into high gear. I am attending a concert on the 29th with my sister and four of my cousins. Then Halloween we have a party to attend! Should be a very fun weekend!!

Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more!

What a wonderful weekend away we had! Steve and I went this past weekend and visited his family that lives in Topeka. We love going up there, they have wonderful dinners and really enjoy each others company. I enjoy it because I really see where Steve gets his warm loving side from but also where he gets his joker side from as well. I laughed so hard I wa afraid my stomach might hurt the next day!

Steve's work schedule has slowed down a bit and he is now just working about 48 hours a week instead of 70! THe 2010 football season kicked off last week and as many of you know the chiefs played monday night! We had burritos and margaritas and really enjoyed watching the Chiefs beat the Chargers! It has been a while since the chiefs had a big Monday night game like that!

School is keeping me on my toes, I am really so ready to be done. I am not sure how soon I will start taking masters classes, but my guess is I will wait a year or two. I am planning on being done in May, about a week before the wedding. Boy if thats not cutting it close, I don't know what is!!

Wedding planning is going quite nicely, we have been able to check a good number of things off of the to-do list. We have to meet with a photographer this weekend as well as going shopping for Tuxes. I am not sure how excited Steve is about this! Next weekend I am going to go take a look at the reception hall, I am very excited for that!

Hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful fall weather we are experiancing! I am ready to get the mums and pumpkins out and decorate for Halloween! I think I may add that to my to-do list for the weekend as well! I love fall, it has became my favorite time of the year!

Fall is on its way!

Oh wow, what a long, hot, busy summer we have had! Steve is finally done with working his crazy schedule and we have spent the last two weekends relaxing and enjoying ourselves. Steve actually got a few days of vacation after they finished the last SOnic install. He had four work days and two weekend days off with nothing planned! I think he got rested up, he has been hitting the gym pretty regular again. I can not say the same for myself, it seems like something gets in the way every night. School is keeping my busy and so is wedding planning.

We are going to be getting away for the weekend to visit Steve's family in Topeka. I love going up there and visiting with everyone, its so nice and relaxing. Unfortunatly a weekend of traveling means a busy week before for me. I am trying to get all the laundry done and put away, the house cleaned and all my homework done before we leave. SO far I am doing good on my check list and I still have a few days to finish everything.

Wedding planning is going great, so far I have not turned into a bridezilla. We found our caterer last weekend, I am very excited, their food was amazing. We have also decided on our florist and what types of flowers we will use for bouqets and centerpieces. WE are meeting with a potential photographer in two weeks, I will be glad to have that checked off of the list! Finding a photographer has been the single hardest thing about the whole planning process. After we get a photographer we should have all of the major items done. Now we just get to start making deposits and payments!

I hope everyone is enjying the nice fall weather the midwest has been experiancing. Its so nice to have the AC off and the doors and windows open. Enjoy the weekend and I am sure I will blog sometime early next week!

Its hotter than the 4th of July!!

Oh my goodness, it has been the hottest summer I can ever remember having. I can not even remember the last time it was below 90 for a day but the past two weeks have been upper 90's almost continuesly! Steve is still working this crazy split schedule, but he only has two more weeks left of it! YEAH!! Needless to say we are in a countdown mode at our house, it has been a long hot tiring summer for him.

We had a very lazy weekend, Steve was very thankful. Between 3 baby showers, a trip to St louis and a trip to Silver Dollar city the last four weekends have been fast and furious. We really relaxed this weekend and spent a nice calm weekend at home in the Air watching movies. Oh yes, and of course Madden 11 came out this last week so steve got in a few games of that this weekend as well.

We normally go camping for the major holidays of the summer however with the heat, Steve's work schedule and my parents big trip they just got back from we decided to skip labor day and stay home for a pool party and BBQ at my cousins house instead. As many of you know my best friend Angie is 33 weeks pregnant and we also didn't want to get to far from her, just in case little Kenzie decides to make her entrance early.

I start school again in one week and I am NOT looking forward to it. Steve and I have been house hunting and planning the wedding. I am enjoying these two things much more than school! But they also keep me on my toes and busy so mix school in with that and you have one crazy bride to be!

As far as wedding planning goes, our planning is going very smooth so far. We finally dedided on a color scheme after several trips to bridal stores and one 3 hour dress fitting with my WONDERFUL bridesmaids! I really have wonderful ladies helping me through this process! Of course I also have my dress, slip and veil already purchased and the deposit is made on the reception hall. Steve and I are meeting with a DJ this week so we are slowly getting things lined up. In case you have not heard we do have a website, its filled with fun stories and information on the wedding. Here is a link...

Well, I suppose I should wrap this Novel up! Since Steve is working I think a chick flick may be in order this evening!

The dog days of summer!

Wow, it is hot outside!! I think the past three days it has gotten to 100 degrees here with a heat index of 105 or more. Needless to say I have spent a lot of time indoors this week with the little ones that I watch. Poor steve is still working the split shift and it is wearing him out. We did get to go to St Louis last Friday night and came home Saturday late. Angie and Dustin had a great shower there as well. This weekend we have some fun activities planned, Springfield Cardinals game with friends Thursday and Friday evening we are going to the fair with my cousin and her boyfriend.

Wedding planning is coming along slowly but surely. We do have a little over 9 months so I am not to worried about it. Steve and I have actually been house hunting. We are looking to upgrade to something with more square footage, the usuall more bedrooms, another bathroom! This way when family comes into town they can stay with us and be more comfortable. This is proving to be a long and tiring process, we found our dream house but it was not our dream price. SO we are back to the drawing board and still looking!

Hope everyone is doing well, stay cool and hydrated in this heat!!
